About once a month, the non-profit clubs Swedish Russian Business Club and the Swedish Ukrainian Business Club, arrange meetings for Swedish, Russian and Ukrainian companies, where they get an opportunity to network and share experience and knowledge.
- At yesterday’s meeting, we met at Sjöfartshotellet in central Stockholm and this time we put together a number of different themes. Among other things, Mattias Lindgren from Zaraya Partners, talked about how Swedes experience the Russians, how they look upon us and how to socialize in general and what it is like to work in Russia.
Anders Bergström says that at the Ukrainian and Russian meetings, there tend to be more practical information. For example, logistics issues, certifications, current political issues like change of government. The Swedish meetings are more focused on business culture.
IN ADDITION TO these get-togethers, called the Pub Vikings and the Pub Rus, they organise seminars, presentations, workshops and business meetings in different parts of the Ukraine, Russia and Sweden. Cooperation is facilitated, by connecting business men and entrepreneurs from these three countries to one joint network. Among the members are Swedish companies with extensive Russian and Ukrainian experience, Russian and Ukrainian companies with an inside market knowledge as well as many motivated and active individuals. Together this multifaceted network offers support and new business opportunities for its members.
IN CONTRAST to the Swedish Trade Council and the Chambers of Commerce, assisting Swedish companies all over the world, the Swedish Russian and Ukrainian Business Club will network and establish contact with foreign interests.
- Our target group is primarily small and medium sized companies and our meetings are often a first step towards establishing contact with foreign companies, says Anders Bergström.
NEXT PUB get-together is Monday, May 19 in Stockholm and the theme is Poltava.
- A Russian delegation will talk about Poltava from a historic as well as a current perspective. They will also highlight the city’s and the region’s business profile, ie type of established companies etc.
