Air India will increase its focus on the Gulf with 200 to 250 more flights per month to the region starting this winter, says chairman Arvind Jadhav.
The Indian airline will soon receive delivery of five new aircrafts, and another 20 planes are in order.
It is the increased trade exchange between India and the Gulf countries that is the cause of the increased traffic volume and capacity demand.
In 2009, India became the United Arab Emirates largest trading partner, followed by China, which thereby lost its number one position from 2008.
