To address this concern, the Oil Group (together with partners) has created a complete program with integrated risk elimination in order to ensure establishments of companies on this market.
All participants in the program. which begins in September and ends in May, will be provided with information and knowledge of the Russian market through seminars and trips. The program is called BCE, which stands for Business Creators East.
In the organizing group, there is competence within all areas that are important for a safe investment in Russia. You will also meet with several companies that already have established a business on the Russian market.
There will be three trips to Russia. These trips include, for example, visits to local administrations in order to obtain information about their views on foreign investment. Furthermore, these trips also include visits to a number of Swedish companies that have established business in the different regions. Volvo Trucks is just one example of companies that will be visited.
Establishing Abroad has spoken to Crister Auer at Oil Group in order to find out who or what companies this training is aimed for.
Crister tells us that both service and manufacturing companies have equal benefit from this training since all the processes involved in the establishment will be implemented.
Among other things, the Russian resort of Sochi will host Winter Olympics in 2014. Here, they are planning for the winter sports facilities including housing, infrastructure and the more than 20,000 new hotel rooms that need to be ready when it's time for the Winter Olympics. Sochi, also known as Russia's Riviera, is located in the Kuban region and has long been Russia's summer recreation area with a lot of hotels and sanatoriums along the Black Sea coast. Sochi is geographically located close to Georgia and the South Caucasus.
Apart from Sochi there are other fast growing regions in Russia, for example Kaluga, Ekaterinburg and Krasnodar. These regions attract international capital.
Kaluga is the region that attract foreign capital at a fast pace. Kaluga wants to become Russia's Detroit. The major companies are already established: Volkswagen, Volvo, Peugeot / Citroen / Mitsubishi, Nestle, Samsung, John Deere, L'Oréal and Stora Enso. The administration offers help and freedom of corruption.
Ekaterinburg is an industrial city and region in the Ural Mountains. It is a center for Metal Management. The city is also considered to be Russia's third most important city. The city has become increasingly important over the past years.
Krasnodar is called Russia's southern capital in certain contexts. This is the largest city in the Kuban region and is geographically located close to the Black Sea and Caucasus. In recent years, Krasnodar has been considered one of the most prosperous regions in Russia. Heavy industry mixed with agriculture is associated with Krasnodar and surrounding areas.
Crister adds that there are not enough companies established on the Russian market. This is due to the lack of knowledge and contacts, which is a shame since there are lots of business opportunities.
