A measurement of business activity has been carried out by the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise. As much as 40 percent of the individuals engaging in business activities are under 35 years. There are now 122 000 people under 35 years in charge of a company.
Sweden needs more young entrepreneurs in the country. A large proportion of young individuals have chosen to seek happiness in neighboring countries, due to the opportunities. But this proves that there are also opportunities on the domestic market for the population and you do not always have to look beyond Sweden's borders in order to succeed.
According to the measurement, the growth of young people is twice the growth of the overall enterprise and the involvement has increased. The number of individuals under 35 years in charge of a company have risen 5.7 percent.
The most enterprising county is Gotland, and also in Åre where enterprising have started to flourish. The lowest proportion is found in Västmanland and Norrbotten. Åre has its advantages for business due to tourism, especially during the winter period.
During the second half of 2009, the number of enterprising individuals in Sweden increased with 6,158 people (0.8 percent).
