Ten years ago, we did not have the same business opportunities and attitudes to China's market that we have today.

The world is shrinking, and Sweden will be even smaller than it already is. Many economists today do not have enough expertise about China to establish operations and very few take the time to educate themselves, although many have the right ambition.

China's economy grows at lightning speed and plays an increasing role in the global economy. Imports and exports are increasing and we in other countries are faced with new challenges. The relations between Sweden and China are becoming increasingly important and also the understanding of business culture, government, and business relationships.

Therefore, there is now an education that offers more than an ordinary business degree (a 180 point program) at Kristianstad University.

The degree in Economics with a focus on China provides a broad internationally oriented degree in economics with specific focus on Chinese business. You also get the chance to a basic understanding of the Chinese language. At least one semester will be studied at the University of Kristianstad´s partner university in China. Other parts of the program can be studied as an exchange student in China or in another country.

The education includes basic knowledge in economy subjects and courses that specifically focus on international business.
Among other issues, various potential markets, opportunities for import and export forms for foreign establishment and strategies of multinational enterprises are highlighted. A part of the education is taught in English and you can take part in working in multinational groups.

This program aims to make you prepared for international business relations, especially with China.

It is never too late to study and the fact that these courses now are offered proves that we have a future of international business in front of us.
