The factory, which will be completed and ready for operation by the end of 2010, is located in Shanghai and will deliver to China and other countries in the region.

Atlas Copco will assemble and package the full supply of turbo compressors and expansion turbines at the new facility. The project is expected to improve the efficiency of packaging, order processing as well as post-market.

"China, Korea, Japan and Southeast Asia are markets with enormous potential for this kind of products. By manufacturing closer to the customer, we become more effective in general, ranging from the purchase of components to how we handle the post-market, "says Stephan Kuhn, general manager of Atlas Copco Compressor Technique.

In connection with the investment, Atlas Copco Gas and Process will include all relevant quality standards at the factory, including ISO certifications and required local standards.

Moreover, the investment is a good platform for continued growth in industries such as chemical / petrochemical, air separation and others.
