It eventually became his mission - to offer one single contact for all sorts of transportation needs. Speditören´s customers - businesses only - do not need to keep track of more than one phone number for help with carriers, small packages and large shipments.
- The company was founded in the year 2000, says the owner Mattias Theander.
- My phone is my working tool, but I have plenty of well established contacts to use in order to meet customer requirements.
The customers are mostly small and medium-sized businesses with diverse orders. Speditören frequently offer special solutions - when something is sent late or has to arrive within a very short period of time.
- I am good at organizing "special deals", says Mattias Theander - companies do not want to pay too much for such things and I can provide them with affordable solutions.
- It rarely happens that I deny a customer mission.
For example, he tells me about one occasion when a small shipment on short notice should be implemented from Småland to Venice, Italy. It did not look good for a while, but then he decided to solve it by himself and travelled by plane to Italy, thus ensuring that the mission was carried out on time.
- It was still cheaper than it would have been with the big companies, says Speditören´s owner, Mattias Theander.
Another way to solve smaller transportation needs is Speditören´s own delivery service van. It is obviously used for small and local needs:
- It is good to be able to offer immediate assistance, he says. It is an additional resource I can use. Also, it is fun to go out and meet my clients.
Speditören also offers so-called economy trails - if a car is going a certain distance and is not fully loaded, Speditören can have some additional goods shipped in the same direction which is beneficial for the company as well as the customers.
Speditören works mainly with transport within the EU, as well as back and forth to Norway. However, there is no requirement that the start or ending destination has to be Sweden:
- It may also be, for example, transport between Germany and Finland, says Mattais Theander.
The large contact network is a success factor, the second - stubbornness. He says that if he fails to work out an order on the first try, he makes a second, if not possible, a third ...
-... and on the fifth try it usually works out!
