Sweden and the UK have always had a good exchange and now there will be further opportunities for Swedish companies in the country. Swedish companies are skilled in environmental technology and are therefore coveted.
Imperial College London will begin a partnership with the western Swedish cleantech company IMCG. Imperial College has a long experience of converting university research into new companies. Now, they are looking for companies in the Nordic countries that are interested to take part of their research results.
"We have in particular developed a completely new method of producing ethanol that gives twice as much energy compared with traditional production and because the Nordic countries, and especially Sweden, have come a long way in environmental technologies, we are looking for companies that can use our research", says Professor Richard Templer, head of the Porter Institute, Imperial College London.
IMCG will serve as coordinator between Imperial College London and the Nordic companies. IMCGs role is to match business needs with Imperial College's research and to be included in the implementation and development of new business relationships.
- Even if we as a company are relatively new in Sweden, we have extensive experience in converting research into successful businesses. In Britain, there are good opportunities for Swedish companies to take advantage of investment funds, says Jonas Norrman CEO of IMCG.
The UK market offers many advantages for Swedish and other Nordic companies and environmental technology companies should take advantage of these opportunities that now exist.
