In the past year, the media has reported the financial crisis gloomy consequences for Sweden. A comparison between Sweden and neighboring countries shows that Finland has suffered at least as hard as Sweden, while Denmark and Norway have managed the situation better.
The conclusion is that Norway has been the most successful with the motivation that Norway has sustained the domestic consumption and production of goods and services, and unemployment has risen the least.
After Norway is Denmark. Although Denmark has had a higher increase in unemployment than Finland, the production and demand for Danish goods and services declined less than in Sweden and Finland.
Last are Finland and Sweden.
While production has declined about the same in both countries, Finland's exports have declined more than in Sweden, but unemployment has increased more in Sweden than in Finland.
