Brazil offers a consistent market

Brazil's demand for engineering plastics has continued to develop well despite the global economic slowdown. Brazil is not experiencing a crisis such as U.S. does today, and it is a popular country for investments.

A study conducted recently showed that Brazil is a country entrepreneurs see as a potential market.

Engineering plastics are used mainly in the automotive industry, with a focus on reducing the weight of vehicles and increasing fuel efficiency, thereby lowering CO2 emissions.

Over the past six months the North American automotive industry has reported a decrease in both sales and production by 35-40 per cent. But in Brazil, they have not noticed these effects in the same way.

Today, Brazil is the biggest market in North and South America. It also stands for three-quarters of the operations in Latin America, followed by Argentina, Chile and Colombia.

In Brazil, there are many opportunities to use more plastics in the automotive industry and the demand has increased significantly. This is due to improved qualities in plastics and applications.

Engineering Plastics are also used in the electronics industry and within the civil construction sector. In other words, within these areas there are great opportunities in Brazil at the moment.
