U.S. companies look to other markets

The United States has often been the future-country with great business opportunities. Many Swedish companies have established business on the U.S market, but now it is the Americans who look for new opportunities abroad and in particular within finance.

At present time, it is a different future image. The financial crisis in the U.S. has resulted in that more people have become unemployed, and thus started to go abroad. This crisis reminds us of the crisis in the 1930's, the difference in the current situation is that there are improved communications, which makes it easier to go to other new markets.

The American government indicates that more companies, particularly within finance, have asked about opportunities abroad in recent months.

The young students who have just graduated in finance and MBA focus their searches and choose to see to the European market rather than Wall Street Journal. A recent study by the firm Korn/Ferry International strengthens the evidence.

It was found that 53 percent out of 438 respondents believe the best job opportunities are in countries such as Brazil, Russia, India and China. Another showed that 20 percent out of 718 respondents said they are more likely to accept overseas job now, in an economic downturn, than in a stable economy.
