The labor market for economists is becoming more international and business relations with China increasingly important. That is why there is a need for knowledge of the Chinese business culture, basic knowledge of the language and experience of what it is like to live in China.
Few economists in the Western world have the competence today.
China's economy is growing rapidly and the country plays a central role in the global economy. Imports from China are increasing and puts Swedish producers in a new competition. At the same time, many companies are conducting their operations in China.
The development also means future export opportunities for Swedish companies on the growing Chinese market. In addition, Chinese investors are interested in establishing themselves here in Sweden.
Course content
The economy program targeting China offers a broad international oriented business study with specific focus on Chinese business culture and basic knowledge of Chinese(Mandarin). At least one semester takes place at Kristanstads´ Partner University in China.
You also have the opportunity to study other parts of the program as an exchange student in China or other countries.
The education includes basic knowledge in economic subjects and courses that specifically focus on international business. Among other issues the various market potential, opportunities for import and export forms for foreign establishment and strategies of multinational companies are highlighted. A significant part of the education is given in English and you get trained working in multinational groups.
Contacts with the working life
Contacts with the working life is done continuously during the training by for example guest speakers from various companies and organizations and student union activities.
The program also includes an activity based education. You'll get work experience, the opportunity to apply your theoretical knowledge and the chance to make contacts that may lead to employment after the education.
Types of study
The education is full time and corresponds to 180 university points.
A large part of the education is given in English. Through cooperation with foreign students you are trained to work in multinational groups.
