Companies that understand and adapt their services where the Internet is part of the business model are strong in the global competition that is growing even stronger.
Products have been transported across borders for a long period of time, but now global Business-To-Business services are starting to emerge in an increasing pace and from a variety of countries.
A clear sign is that newer companies have this adaptability and an example is the Danish company Autocom A/S, a car auction company now established and growing rapidly in Sweden through its affiliated company Autorola.se. Sweden is Autocoms´ 17th country since their inception in 2001.
The company has a business model that is created completely on Internet technology. All support functions are in Denmark and all sales and customer contact is made locally within the country. The core business is trade with company-vehicles and customers are in a range of countries such as France, Italy, the Netherlands and Germany to name a few.
Here, the internet-based business model has had an important role and lead times can be shortened significantly. The handling of time differences is simple, and last but not least, costly parts are removed. Overall, a very clean business process that is cost-effective is now a possibility for all involved and the customer will always experience a current local provision wherever the customer is located.
