Norway - Europe's strongest labor market

Do you have plans to develop yourself or your business but are unsure of the demand and market? Norway may be the answer to your concerns. This part of the Nordic countries is well worth examining.

Norway is geographically well-located to both Sweden and other European countries. The language is basically the same as in Sweden and the culture as well. It is also often a bit less complicated if you choose to work in a neighboring country and the costs may be somewhat lower.

The Norwegian unemployment rate has historically been low, last year it was below 2.0 percent but has this year increased to just over 2.8 percent in January. But still, there is more demand than supply of educated people. Mainly, the demands are engineers in marine engineering, construction and process industries.

Norway is not self-contained when it comes to well-trained staff which the Norwegian Industry has realized and hope that the future solution lies in the employment of foreign workers. This means that the chance to find jobs in Norway now is great, especially for technicians and engineers. It does not matter if you are alone, self-employed or have a large company, it is recommended to take a closer look at what Norway can offer.

An advice is to look at what part of the country that would fit best for you or your business establishment. Norway is not just Oslo, rather the opposite. There is a variety of Norwegian cities that have varying qualification requirements based on various local economic activities.
