Choosing the right company form

There are a number of factors to be considered when establishing your company abroad. One of the first decisions you must make regards which company form is best for you - branch or subsidiary.

Grant Thornton's tax consultants working with international taxation provide you with good advice.
Factors that can affect your choice include:
• What tax rate is applicable in the other country?
• Do you anticipate profit or loss?
• What regulation or control do you want to be able to have over the branch/subsidiary?
• How will your external collaborative partners/customers view the company form you choose?
• How will you finance the foreign establishment?
Our tax consultants working with international taxation can help you review which company form is most suitable for you and can assist in the establishment of a branch or subsidiary.

International taxation
With our help, you will quickly learn of applicable tax rules in different countries. We can help you with all questions regarding corporate tax, value-added tax, international transactions or consequence analyses prior to establishment.

Foreign service
If you intend to have employees in service abroad, we will help you interpret the applicable rules for social security contributions, income tax and how various benefits are taxed. Which country the employee works in affects how long he or she can be dispatched and still be covered by the Swedish social security system. It is easy to make mistakes in this area and the ramifications of such mistakes can be great. Having to compensate employees for lost parental leave compensation or the like can be expensive.
