Continued GNP growth in Europe

GNP in most European countries continues to grow, slower though, according to preliminary numbers from the European statistics agency Eurostat. GNP for the Euro zone and EU27 during the first quarter was 0.8 percent higher than last quarter.

When comparing last year’s first quarter, GNP increased by 2.2 percent in the Euro zone and 2.5 percent in the EU27 countries. Right now, Estonia has the lowest GNP growth with only 0.1 percent.

 

Household consumption also increased during the first quarter. In the Euro zone, consumption increased by 0.2 percent and in the EU27 countries by 0.3 percent.
